(ECOS) is a global provider of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) performance management software and services. Ecos Technologies closes the gap between EHS strategy and action by aligning and integrating data, processes and people with stakeholder driven business objectives. The Challenges ECOSystem™ is a web-architected Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) performance management software platform that streamlines data collection, validation and integration and improves process management, corporate reporting and performance measurement. As a young company with few clients and Funds coming only from one source, the Venture Capitalists involved were immense pressure on cutting the costs of operation. ECOS was using own internal staff as well as contractors for working on product initially. But ECOS realized that the current funds were not adequate for Onsite development of the product in US and started looking into alternative ways to develop. ECOS has started looking around for a strong offshore development partner, who is trustworthy, dependable, experienced, as well as be able to deliver the product developed in high quality. The Paradigm Solution ECOS has invited multiple vendors offering offshore development services in system development, support and QA etc. for evaluation. Paradigm has demonstrated the company’s experience, offshore methodology and client References. After a thorough evaluation process, ECOS selected Paradigm Infotech as the vendor and requested Paradigm to perform a two-month Quality Assurance (QA) on their recently in-house developed product, ECOSystem™. ECOS wanted to do a formal evaluation on the quality of Paradigm’s offshore work and sch an exercise would enable ECOS to ensure that the offshore delivery capabilities of Paradigm’s is of high quality. All the team members had extensive experience and expertise in manual and automated testing. The onsite Project Manager for Paradigm delivered a detailed project plan and executed the project according to schedule. This included everyday communication and coordination with offshore team to ensure that there are no gaps in understanding between the customer’s expectation, onsite project management and the offshore team. This process was executed so successfully that the quality work delivered by Paradigm was recognized by ECOS and appreciated by ECOS. ECOS was a happy customer at the results of the outsourcing experiment. Without increasing the existing staff, they could achieve a complex stage in their product development life cycle successfully. ECOS could save up to 50% of their cost due to the offshore resources employed by Paradigm for the project. In addition to this, ECOS was also thrilled about the fact that whenever required, Paradigm was capable and ready to supply resources to ECOS at some times as short as 2 days notice. This success has prompted ECOS to award its future development activity and more QA assignments to Paradigm. ECOS has hired an onsite Coordinator from Paradigm to communicate and coordinate with the client and offshore team on a constant basis for the development and enhancement of their application product.
