SAFEOperations was formed by executives with decades of experience in security from founding Raptor Systems (firewalls) and Biometric Access Corporation (fingerprint identification) and from decades at the National Security Agency. From designing secure voice and data networks for the United States Military, obtaining intelligence from adversarial networks, and from assessing security posture of dozens of military and civilian agencies and private corporations, they have developed a deep understanding of what it takes for organizations to secure their critical systems and information.

The Challenges

SAFEOperations has designed and developed an initial prototype version of the Security Tool using in-house IT staff. To convert the prototype to a developed and product into production, SAFEOperations was analyzing alternative strategies for the Security Tool product development.  The internal IT staff turnover also was a factor for SAFEOperations to look into the possibility of using an external offshore entity. SAFEOperations felt that would assure a competed product without the company having to invest time an resources as well as being an offshore operation could offer the cost-advantage benefit to SAFEOperations.

Alternative to the offshore option would be that SAFEOperations will have to implement new IT Operations with System Architects, programmers and an IT manager to lead their team of IT Staff.  While considering both the alternatives, SAFEOperations also look in to the challenge of having to maintain the product, product support, develop enhancements as well as ensure that newer versions of the products are developed on time and delivered to the clients. Considering all requirements and options, it was obvious to SAFEOperations that an offshore development strategy would be the most ideal to go with. Also, SAFEOperations business focus is not Information technology, but Security operations which it has the reason to concentrate its resources and energy.

The Paradigm Solution

Based on evaluations of many offshore and other IT services company, SAFEOperations finally selected Paradigm Infotech as its offshore product development partner. This was based on Paradigm’s proven software development processes offshore model for a Cost effective development of the Product. Part of the consideration for selection was also Paradigm’s prior experiences in delivering offshore based projects at competitive cost saving model that had bee demonstrated.

As per the request from SAFEOperations, Paradigm designed, developed a “demo version” of the SAFEOperations Intelligent Security Assessment Tool, for demonstrating at a major conference. This was demo version of the product was completed successfully within 3 weeks by Paradigm Infotech. SAFEOperations was thoroughly impressed.
